Carlowrie Castle is not just a pretty place. Current owner Andrew Marshall set up the charity RESTART in 2009, which receives regular funding from the castle. Its mission is to alleviate the suffering of the most vulnerable members of society through medical attention, education and temporary accommodation. A more recent venture, the Isobel Wylie Hutchison Collection, celebrating the remarkable arctic explorer and botanist who lived at Carlowrie, will support the educational work of the Royal Scottish Geographical Society with a percentage of sales.
Flexible Capacity
Are you looking to host a small intimate gathering for your board members or benefactors, or perhaps a gala dinner? Do you need to source a venue for an auction or presentation? No matter the requirement Carlowrie has the perfect set up for you. Our Marble Suite or Piano Room are the perfect intimate setting for up to 25 guests, we can host up to 110 guests in The Orangery, a beautiful space with an abundance of natural daylight overlooking the peaceful gardens, it’s an idyllic space.
For larger events our fabulous new Marquee can host up to 300 guests for a gala dinner and 500 guests for a drinks reception. It’s also possible to extend the marquee to host up to 500 for dining and 1000 for drinks receptions. The marquee is a stunning space boasting floor to ceiling glass frontage overlooking the perfectly manicured lawn to the castle. Fully equipped with a marble-topped bar, boutique restrooms, crystal chandeliers and colour select led lighting.

In addition to our charity involvement, with a percentage of every hire going to RESTART, Carlowrie Castle has an ongoing commitment to developing the best sustainable practices. From locally and sustainably sourcing all the food we serve, to our forthcoming carbon-offsetting program, to our clean-fuel biomass boiler, we are doing everything we can to make your Carlowrie experience both luxurious and environmentally friendly.
