The 2020 Isobel Award was due to be held at Carlowrie Castle on the 29th of May, but restrictions on social gatherings mean that we are unable to hold the ceremony on this date. The spirit of the award is perhaps even more prevalent this year as it celebrates inspiration from adversity, and we are delighted to announce that The Isobel Award 2020 goes to 17 year old Amy Bray, founder of environment charity Another Way. (another-way.org.uk)
TIA judging panel have followed Amy's environmental work for some time, which led to her making the shortlist of exceptional individuals for this year's award. Our CEO Andrew who is part of the panel flew over from Oslo at the beginning of this year with his eldest son Oliver to spend half day with Amy in her hometown of Penrith in Cumbria. Andrew and Oliver were very hugely impressed with Amy's passion and dedication living the last few years in the most sustainable way possible and encouraging those around her to do the same.
Congratulations to Amy, a very worthy winner and a truly inspirational and pioneering individual, as Isobel was 100 years ago. We hope that you will be able to meet Amy in person at some point this year when we are able to physically hold the award ceremony, but in the meanwhile please take the time to visit Amy's charity page and understand the importance of her work.
