Introducing Domaine de la Citardière

We are very excited about our new property and vineyard in the Loire Valley, France. Purchased during lockdown to boost Carlowrie's portfolio, Domaine de la Citardiere sits 20 minutes south of Saumur in the prime wine producing Anjou appellation.

The vineyard dates back to the 15th century, and is currently tended by Madame and Monsieur Martin, whose family have worked the vines for 4 generations. The Martins are devoted to biodiversity, and we are working with them to renew vines in order to produce exceptional wines for years to come.

Carlowrie will produce red, white, rose and two sparkling cremants for use at the castle and sales by the case to a select market under the name Citardiere. We are currently finalising our branding so watch this space for an update soon. We look forward to toasting your special day with an extra special sparkling wine.

The estate and buildings are currently going through an extensive refurbishment programme and will be ready to rent in the summer of 2023. They will be able to sleep up to 14 guests with additional room for our onsite staff, the estate and pool are guaranteed private for your group to relax and enjoy our famous Carlowrie hospitality in warmer climes.
